GGH is
operated under the overall guidance of a governing body that is
headed by The Commissioner Shri- rural development, Government of
Gujarat. It has been established as an autonomous body and
registered as a public charitable trust by the Rural Development
Departments, Govt. of Gujarat.
Presently, at the state level the Gujarat Gram Haat is running
under the Chairmanship of Commissioner, Rural Development, and
Government of Gujarat and at the district level it will be
headed by the District Development Officer (DDO).
Proposed
plan is each district of the state will have a Gram Haat with
will comprise of permanent members and the elected members. The
permanent members would comprise of MBA professionals and
consultants. The SHGs of each district will elect the members
for the governing committee comprising of BPL artisans of that
district. These district level governing bodies will in turn
elect the state level committee. |

Gujarat Gram Haat is a
registered society working for Bellow Poverty Line rural
artisans/SHGs of Gujarat. Secretary & Commissioner, Rural
Development Department, Gandhinagar is Chairman of the society
and Director, District Rural Development Agency, Ahmedabad is
Member Secretary. The governing body of the Gujarat Gram Haat
not only include Members from some of the prominent institutions
like Indian Institute of Management, National Institute of
Design (NID), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT),
Entrepreneurship Development institute on India (EDI), Mudra
Institute of Communication (MICA), Rural Technology Institute
(RTI) but also from the grass root level BPL artisans/SHGs from
districts of Gujarat. The Artisans/SHGs are also called in the
governing body meeting to take part in decision making for
policy & effective operation of the scheme at grass root level. Governing Body
